Animals have always been a part of my life. I grew up in rural Alberta surrounded by cats, the occasional dog or two, and even a few bunnies. In my 20s, I adopted my beloved tuxedo cat Eddie from the Calgary Humane Society, and later, in my 30s, I welcomed Suki—a German Shepherd cross from the Animal Rescue Foundation—into my life.

Suki quickly became the inspiration behind my first pet care business, which I launched in 2007. She happily joined me on many dog walks, making fast friends along the way. I cared for dogs of all sizes—from tiny Bichon Frisés to towering Rhodesian Ridgebacks—and offered private walks, pet sitting, and training sessions. My goal was always to help pets feel safe and loved, and to give their humans peace of mind while they were away or at work.

By 2010, I stepped back from the business to focus on my growing family. Though I loved being a full-time mom, I missed the joy and connection I felt with the animals I worked with—those tail wags and happy greetings stayed with me.

Now, with a teenager at home, I’m excited to return to the work that brings me so much joy. While I don't currently offer private training sessions, I’m happy to reinforce the training you’ve been working on with your pup. I follow a positive reinforcement approach—praise and rewards for good behavior, and calm redirection or ignoring for unwanted habits like leash pulling or jumping up.
